About

I help people and organisations make sense of what changes when you cross borders — not just the language, but the rules, expectations, and “how things are done”.

Cultural Broker is where I bring together applied anthropology, real-life intercultural experience, and practical problem-solving. I work with international students and professionals who are navigating everyday life and academic or institutional systems in Spain, and with universities, hospitals, companies and public institutions that need clearer intercultural communication and smoother integration.

What I do is simple: I listen carefully, map the situation, and turn confusion into a clear plan. Sometimes that means preparing for a meeting, understanding an institutional process, or translating cultural codes that don’t show up in official documents. Other times it means supporting teams who work with diverse communities and want fewer misunderstandings and better outcomes.

I usually work one-to-one, and when a case needs extra expertise, I collaborate with a small network of trusted professionals.

If you’re dealing with a move, a new environment, a complicated institution, or a multicultural setting that feels harder than it should — let’s talk.

About the practitioner:

My work is shaped by long-term intercultural practice rather than a single discipline. I spent over a decade in the UK working across healthcare, education and community settings, including as a cultural broker and cultural engagement officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. During this time, I worked closely with families, professionals and institutions navigating complex cultural and systemic situations.

Alongside practice, my background is academic and applied. I hold a BA and two MA degrees completed in the UK, and I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Anthropology and Migration in Spain. I am a certified coach and mentor (CMI London), an accredited agent and counsellor with the British Council, and a graduate of Coventry University’s Global Leadership Programme, with a focus on intercultural communication and international project work.

Communication has always been central to my work. I have over 25 years of experience in radio and media, currently working as Content Director for a regional radio network in Romania. I also work as a multidisciplinary visual artist, with projects shown on TVE and awarded in experimental film contexts, often exploring social observation, migration and translation across media.

This combination of institutional practice, anthropology, communication and creative work informs how I approach intercultural guidance: grounded, analytical, human, and attentive to context.
